The "real" Kim & Jason were interviewed by the nbc affiliate in Madison, Wisconsin about the twofold mission behind the comic strip.

Becky Hillier: When speaking of giving, one local couple hopes to give back to the community by doing what they do best. Jason & Kim Kotecki are artists and own JBiRD iNK. Every year they give 3% of their sales to different organizations that help kids. In November, they gave to the National Adoption Center. This month they plan on making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In an extra effort to help kids, the Koteckis developed a cartoon strip based on childhood themes.

Kim Kotecki: The comic strip is a two-fold mission, and we are trying to encourage adults to escape adulthood and remember childhood, and we’re also trying to be able to provide better childhoods for kids.

Becky Hillier: How many people do that...give 3%?

Co-anchor: Yeah, and what a great job on top of it!

Becky Hillier: Doing a good job, and they’re making everyone else feel good at the same time. That’s neat.
