In the morning, I usually eat a “sensible,” healthy cereal and today I woke up with Cookie Crisp.
Then when I headed down for my time with the treadmill, I put my hair in pigtails. And I’m with Kim on treats, so maybe one will make its way to me today…

I have to vote for Jason:
Reason 1) Brushing teeth with your “other” hand is dangerous if attempted at regular brushing speed.
Reason 2) His choice of cereal. Cap’n Crunch…the best cereal EVER. Although if you eat it too fast it can really do a number on the roof of your mouth.
You really put your…well…mouth, where your mouth is on this challenge.

Well, today I hopped on one foot from to my car from a meeting. I have to say it’s much slower than walking & requires a whole lot more energy & is much more exhausting than I remember it being as a kid - especially doing it for about a 1/2 a block. It’s longer than ya think when you’re hopping & not walking.

Every week I attend a staff meeting. Each of us gives a report of what we’ve accomplished and what we have on our upcoming to do lists. Today I gave my team report in the form of a rhyme - part Mother Goose, part Dr. Seuss. Way more fun than my usual bullet list!

I wrote my shopping list in crayon - purple of course! (haven’t had Capn Crunch in ages! - put it on the list!)

This morning I put on my usual white socks. But then I took them off and put on my Snoopy black Christmas socks. Then I made my breakfast. First I poured milk into the bowl and added Heresery’s chocolate, stirring slowly under brown, dumped in Cheerios and enjoyed. I was excited about getting done with the dumb cereal so I could drink the chocolate milk! I took a green mug from the kitchen cabinet for my coffee today. I was a TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES CITY SEWER MUG. I wasn’t sure if it could hold hot coffee but Pete said don’t worry about it, mom can clean it up! Finally I put away all my boring blue and black pens and used red, pink and purple today!

The morning comes pretty early around here. We usually make it through with not much talking or sound. This morning, I turned up the radio and it really did make our morning a little more fun. Some good oldies can cure anything.

Today as Jason and I walked to the car together I put my arm around his shoulder and invited him to walk "like The Monkees" with me. Then on the way home from church I stopped at the grocery store so that Jason and I could each pick out a doughnut. I always loved stopping for treats when I was a kids- whether it was ice cream from Dairy Queen, gingerbread cookies from the bakery, or a Frosty from Wendy’s. Little treats were always such a big deal as a child. Who am I kidding? They still are.
Normally, when I think of a routine, I normally don’t think of weekends, which is when this challenge fell for me. But it didn’t take long for me to realize that I have some morning routines that happen each and every day, whether I’m working or not. I decided today would be "opposite" day.
