Get $1,087 in Goodies – Including Cheap Family Fun – For Just $97

We’ve never done one of these fancy limited-time only Internet sales before, so I’m not really sure what to write. I’m sure my headline could probably be better, I should probably be using some special hypnotic language sprinkled throughout this post, and I should probably be pretty liberal with my virtual yellow highlighter.

Whatever. Continue Reading →

Fighting Adultitis with a Little Help From Our Friends

Fighting Adultitis is a tireless task. Although we try our darndest to create books, videos, and other cool stuff to help you turn the tide against this evil epidemic, we certainly can’t do it alone. Fortunately, we have some super friends who also have made some neat Adultitis-fighting things. Continue Reading →

A Year’s Worth of Fun. Memories for a Lifetime.

YouTube Preview Image

We’ve spent the last two years working on it. We’ve spent the last month talking about it, here, here, here, and here.

And now, quite possibly the most important thing Kim and I have ever done is finally ready.

It’s called The Kim & Jason Guide to Cheap Family Fun, and it’s a video a week for a whole year with a fun and easy idea for turning good intentions into family memories.

We invite you to watch our short trailer video above. (I still get goosebumps when I watch it!) Then click here to learn more about how to add more fun to your family’s story.

Have You Experienced Family Un-Bonding?

Do you have moments in which even when your family is together, they’re not really together?

Like when you’re driving somewhere, and everyone has their headphones in, watching videos, listening to music, or playing games on their miniature iDevice of choice?

Or when the whole gang is home on a weeknight but each person is working, texting, gaming or television watching from a different room in the house? Continue Reading →

The Pajama Run: Essential to Your Family’s Mental Health

I’ve never met anyone who didn’t want more memorable experiences with their family. No one ever said, “Nope, we bond so often and laugh so much and do so many fun things together as it is, I don’t think we need any more, thank you very much.”

Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Continue Reading →

Pokey is Missing (and Why That’s Good for You)

[ Click the image to get your own Pokey is Missing t-shirt at the Lemonade Stand. ]

We sure spend a lot of time focusing on (and worrying about) the big stuff. You know, things like the economy. Unemployment. Health care. War. Nuclear meltdowns.

Big, important, paralyzingly scary stuff.

And yet. Continue Reading →

Join the Kim & Jason Virtual Halloween Parade!

I’ve always loved the idea of Halloween parades. I say “the idea of” because when a was a wee child, I was terribly shy and deathly afraid of such inherently public events. But I did always enjoy seeing everyone else’s costumes. (I just would’ve preferred to be invisible.)

Well, we decided it would be fun to combine the awesomeness of the Halloween parade with the amazing connecting power of the Internet. Hence the first ever Kim & Jason Virtual Halloween Parade! Continue Reading →

Work Happiness: A Must-Have or Delusional Fantasy?

A while back, I was interviewed by Karl of Work Happy Now. He asked some pretty neat questions that really made me stop and think. I’d been meaning to link to it for a while now. Better late than never, I suppose. Go here for the full interview, but here’s an excerpt: Continue Reading →

Art Collecting Just Got Fun. And Functional.

The Golden Birthday. The First Kiss. The New Job. The Milestone Anniversary. Life is filled with big deals. The stuff that sweeps us off our feet and the moments we remember forever. We often mark these occasions with greeting cards, because emails and text messages just won’t do.

But the worst is being stuck without a card and having to make a last-minute trek to find the right one in a rush. Blechh. Talk about a major downer and an epic pain in the butt. Life is busy enough without this extra hassle. Continue Reading →

New Jelly Bean Inspired Greeting Card Sets

A variety of flavors available now at the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand!

It was the classic dilemma of childhood. You walk into a candy store, greeted by the jingling bell tied to the front door. Your feet shuffle across the black and white tiled floor to the glass case showing off its colorful assortment of sugary goodness. Holding everything from fudge to to gumdrops to saltwater taffy, it was willing to part with its carefully guarded yummy treasures — at a price. You’d plunk your handful of pennies down on the counter and begin the thoughtful deliberation.

Sadly, the days of being able to buy candy for a penny are behind us, and the old fashioned corner confectionery stores have been overrun by the generic big box behemoths. Perhaps equally distressing is that in an age where everything seems to be digital, virtual, and anonymous, we’re slowly losing the art of the handwritten note.

It is with that yearning for yesteryear that I am happy to announce the release of some pretty sweet greeting card sets. The die-hard fans who’ve been with us from the beginning will remember these babies. Back in the day, we sold them to gift shops and as part of a fundraising program. Back then, they only had 8 cards in a set. Continue Reading →

Out In The Wild

So my buddy Brett Farmiloe spotted one of our books out in the wild at a book store in San Diego. As an author, it is very exciting to see one of your babies all grown up and out on its own. Also interesting to see what kind of company he is keeping. (Feel free to add any humorous captions in the comments.)

P.S. Good news! You don’t have to be in San Diego to pick up one of these mini Escape Adulthood books. You can find them at the Lemonade Stand or Amazon.com. They’re tiny, colorful, contain some great tips, and make great gifts. (Can’t confirm whether or not they’ll help you have better sex, however.)

P.S.S. The more I think about it, the more I object to the book Sex For Dummies. I don’t think Dummies should be having sex. It could be why we have as many problems as we do…

Red Rover Approved Clothing

I collect t-shirts. I love ‘em. Except for when I play dress-up at weddings and funerals, I pretty much wear one every single day. I even wear a t-shirt when I speak, which absolutely horrifies my more uptight, more “properly dressed” speaker friends.

I have nothing against ties, I just don’t want them strangling my neck on a regular basis.

As a graphic artist, one of my favorite things to do is design t-shirts. It’s one thing for an artist to have someone point out how much they appreciate a particular work, but it’s another thing entirely to have them like it enough to actually wear it.

Like, in public. Continue Reading →

A Simple Yet Amazing Book (Allegedly)

tanmay_voraWe’ve been thrilled to receive so many positive reviews of our new book, There’s An Adult In My Soup. In case you’re wondering, the reason you haven’t seen many bad ones is because we were able to convince The Lord of The Internet (aka Al Gore) to take them all down for us.

The latest review comes from Tanmay Vora, a cool fellow who shares thoughts on quality, management, improvement, and life on his QAspire Blog. Here’s a snippet of what Tanmay had to say about Soup: Continue Reading →

For People Who Need Less Adultitis In Their Lives

lisa_braithwaiteMost people are deathly afraid of speaking in front of a crowd (whether or not the crowd is in their underwear). Lisa Braithwaite is a cool coach and blogger who helps people get better at public speaking. She notes that the fear of looking foolish, the fear of trying new things, and the fear of standing out are all symptoms of Adultitis, which she works hard to alleviate in her clients, as she gives them tools to help their anxiety melt away.

She recently reviewed our new book, There’s An Adult In My Soup and gave away a signed copy on her blog. In the review, she pointed out some of her favorite themes from the book: Continue Reading →

The Best Way to Prevent H1N1

People are freaking out about the swine flu! Talk of it is everywhere. Heck, it’s a national emergency. Vaccinations! Hospitalizations! Deaths! I am in agreement that this is serious stuff. I’m taking precautions, believe me. However…dare I say there is a silent epidemic sweeping the globe that is far deadlier than any flu?

There is, indeed! It’s sneaking into almost EVERY household without even the thought of a vaccination. Continue Reading →
