Greetings and salutations! We are Kim and Jason: best friends, husband and wife, parents of two kids, business partners, authors, retro t-shirt wearers, and partners in crime on a crusade to annihilate Adultitis in ourselves and the world! Kim is a former kindergarten teacher and current noodle groupie. Jason is an artist, professional speaker, and cereal aficionado.
We’re a little bit crazy, in that we actually believe that there is more to life than the hectic busyness, cynical melancholy and overwhelming stress that is typical of most modern lives. We believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest, and that your life should be bursting with big dreams, oodles of passion, and an enthusiastic playfulness. We believe in curiosity, delighting in the little things, and a faith that knows things always work out for the best.
Basically, we’ve come to the conclusion that kids have more of the answers than the rest of us. Although we can’t all be five again, that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope. We believe that a life that embraces a childlike spirit is a life that is less stressful and way more fun. We’ve made it our mission in life to annihilate Adultitis by uncovering the secrets of childhood and sharing them with others.
This is where we live online. It’s like an online magazine filled with all kinds of fun and inspiring stuff for escaping adulthood. Welcome! Take off your shoes, grab a cookie, find yourself a bean bag chair and stay awhile. We’re glad you’re here.
P.S. For those of you who want to know more or are big fans of reading pages with lots of words on them, your wish is our command…
Now before it was an idea, Kim & Jason started out as a simple love story. Jason first drew his lovable characters for his girlfriend Kim sometime before the turn of the century. We shared a kindred childlike spirit, and Jason used the drawings, which represented us as children, on many homemade (aka cheap) gifts designed to win Kim’s heart.
Luckily for him, this downright sappy ploy helped him to not only win her heart, but also her hand in marriage. The characters took on lives of their own and in 2000, we decided to build a company to share the the comic strip and its inspiring message. The comic strip was officially retired in 2007, but our wild ride to rid the world of Adultitis has continued on at full speed.
After falling in love, graduating college, and getting married, we entered the “real world,” and quickly noticed a few things. Like the fact that a shocking number of people are inflicted with Adultitis. We looked around and thought, “Hey, kids don’t ever seem to be very stressed out – what do they know that we don’t?” That led Jason to write his first book, Escape Adulthood: 8 Secrets from Childhood for the Stressed-Out Grown-Up. It details the traits that all children possess and discusses ways to bring them back into our busy lives in order to make them less stressful and more fun.
But honestly, since we were all children once, we really consider ourselves to be “professional reminderers.” We’ve written books about the lessons we’ve learned so far, conducted interviews with cool people who still have that childlike spirit, and traveled all over inspiring and encouraging audiences to live amazing stories and make memories with the people they love. We regularly dish out tons of easy, inexpensive, and fun ideas to help you do just that. Through things like our website, books, speaking programs, and other tools, our aim is to offer you the real-world strategies, ideas, and inspiration for living the life you were meant to live.

Have you ever had the urge to resign from adulthood and return to the carefree days of childhood? Perhaps you’re like many people, in which your budget is stretched, busy is the new normal, and stress is a constant companion. It’s like you’re on a merry-go-round, spinning at warp speed, and you just want to yell, “Stop!”
We have a hunch about you. We think that if you made it to this site, you might be one of those “young at heart” people. You see life as a great adventure. You still get excited about the little things. And you know the power of a good chocolate chip cookie. People tend to wish you’d take things a little bit more seriously. You wish they’d lighten up and crack a smile once in a while. It’s not that you’re irresponsible, you just don’t need the stress of the fastpaced rat race to find real happiness.
If this sounds a lot like you (or the person you’d like to become, for that matter), welcome home.
The way to truly vanquish Adultitis is with ordinary people — like you — participating in small rebellions every single day. Simple decisions to zig instead of zag. Smiling at a stranger. Coloring outside the lines. Daring to eat dessert first.
Instilled with the soaring spirit of childhood, such rebels and their actions are small but mighty. They rally against the rules that don’t exist, engaging in ruthless, senseless acts of silliness that undermine the slavery of Adultitis and its unadventurous version of adulthood.
We saved a space for you as a member of Kim & Jason Nation. Join us in our rebellion against Adultitis and the doo-doo heads who embrace its ideals. Sign up to receive our free weekly email dispatch with simple instructions for creating a life with less stress and more fun!
