Congrats!! It’s such a blessing bringing your first child home, wait for the second and third…
My oldest in now thierteen and youngest is nine so my one tip to you new parents is…. Don’t let anyone tell you that you hold Lucy to much! She will only be that small for a short time and she won’t fit into your arms or will think that hugs are “not cool”. Hug and hold her until she says “not cool” and don’t listen to those comments like, you’ll spoil her if you hold her to much. I say, spoil her and never let her go!!! Enjoy God’s gift!

We are so happy for you! Isn’t it wonderful to hold your newborn in your arms? Life is so precious. Enjoy being parents and have fun.

Children grow so fast. I wish I could hold Aaron again in my arms like I did 6 years ago. ( he was only 4lb 6 oz) However every stage of development is fun and exciting. He lost his second front tooth this morning and can now truly sing the song “All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth” and really mean it!

Well, enjoy parenthood and love every minute. Lucy Ruth is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations! Have a wonderful Christmas with your new addition to your family!

Congratulations! Welcome to the wonderful world of parenting. They change so quickly- document it all!
The most helpful resource that saved us from countless sleepless nights was a DVD by Dr. Karp (or Carp) called, “The Happiest Baby on the Block”. It’s the 5 S’s that sooth the baby…they are magical. But it’s only for the first 8 weeks so get it fast. I didn’t read the book- it’s all about the DVD.

Congratulations, you two! I may not always remember Lucy Ruth’s first name, but I’ll always come up with her middle moniker — Ruth was my mom’s name. LR seems to favor her mother, thank God.

How well I remember the night I was born! I can still see the gas light flickering in Mom’s room, and hear the horse-and-wagons rattling by on the cobblestone street below. Dad was busy writing my birth announcements by candlelight using his favorite quill pen, but he would pause every so often to look out the window, hoping to see President Lincoln — who was rumored to be visiting Philadelphia that evening — ride by in his carriage. Happy memories, indeed!

May you have a ton of happy memories of this precious time with Lucy Ruth. God bless the three of you!

Kim, Jason and Lucy-
Thank you for sharing a wonderful miracle and especially before Christmas, you could not have planned it better :)

Children are by far the best gift for parents to have around, after all it sure allows me to be young by playing with them! To have that sense of family and togetherness is very precious. Tim and I enjoy every waking moment with all three of ours. Can you believe they are now 7 (almost 8 in one month), 4 and 2? Where did that time go?

In regards to sleep, every child is different. I can not tell you truthfully that you may not loose sleep in the next months or so, because two out of three of my children slept 12 hours through the night and they are the perfect little children. The third child (actually born second) awoke every 2 hours but I say that has to do with his weight as he weighed over 9 pounds. I am blessed by spending every minute with my children, homeschooling allows me to learn more things about them. Just enjoy this time and savour every moment.

She looks beautiful and to her true color…. pink. The miracle of a birth really unites the family and strengthens your relationship with each other and most importantly GOD!

Okay one last comment, from you to me on my first born and now I’m passing it back to you ….
