My birthday is Oct. 31, so as a kid that's about the best birthday you can hope for. My elementary school along with the local Lions club had a "Huge" (it seemed huger at the time) Halloween event each year in the school gym with prizes, costume parades, and CANDY buried in piles of sawdust. Have you ever worn a wig made of yarn in a pile of sawdust? Do you know how hard it is to get sawdust out of a wig made of yarn? It really doesn't even matter, because you got to dig in a pile of sawdust and come home with like 8 tootsie rolls!! My parent's indulged me and "held" these parties for me every year from kindergarten through 6th grade. I honestly thought they were for me and that the whole school had turned out to usher in my next year of life. So to answer the question my favorites were birthdays 6-11.

My favorite one was when I was when I was 10 years old. That was the first year I had my brothers back cause they went overseas when they joined the military and didn't see them for years. So it was kind of like I was an only child for awhile, then I had brothers again, so that was the best birthday I had as a child!

I don't remember how old I was, but I got a Barbie dollhouse for my birthday. It was my best birthday ever. I may or may not have had cake. I don't remember. I probably didn't care.

i was in 1st grade. i invited my entire class for a pizza party. the guest - that made the party super fantastic - was donatello of the teen age mutant ninja turtles. it was a very special party and everyone got their picture taken with him as a souvenier to take with them when it was over. it seems silly now, but i will never forget it. it was the best party ever!!

My favorite birthday party was at Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. It wasn't just the "pig trough" they brought the ice cream out in, it was the ambience. They had a ragtime-playing, coin operated piano and the waitstaff wore old time white shirts, ties, a red vest and straw hats. Bells, whistles, drums and a wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday. It made me feel like the most important birthday girl ever!

I don't remember many of my birthdays for some reason, but the one that stands out to me was when I turned 8.

My parents were always really creative and artistic, so our pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey game was beautifully hand-drawn and painted by my dad, for example. I remember a game where we would stand on a chair and drop clothespins into a cup on the floor. Standing on chairs? Eight-year-olds? Clearly not a safety-oriented birthday party!

I also remember that I received my very first record at that party -- a 45 of "Billy, Don't Be a Hero!"

My first reaction, was the birthday i went out the back door to find a little swimming pool, but, in reality. When my father died when I was 9, I do remember some of the birthdays, but it is the ones afterward that mean the most. I may not remember many specifics, but I do remember my mother always wanting to make sure not only the day was special, but that I was special. So, its not really a birthday that stands out as much as the feeling.

My most favorite birthday???? I was in middle school and all my girlfriend spent the night over at my house. My mom really didn't like me spending the night off nor did she like for my friends to spend the night over. That was my best birthday EVER.

Okay, this is going to sound a little depressing but it's still my favorite memory. I turned 4 about three days after my parents got divorced, so that was the very last birthday party my dad ever attended. I never really liked cake so we went to a pizza place and they stuck candles on the pizza which I, of course, thought was hilarious. And they were those "magic" candles that you can never blow out. It was probably a horrible party for my parents and all of their friends but it was the last time they were able to act like mature adults and be civil in the same room as one another so I will always appreciate that.

My favorite childhood birthday memory would have to be when I got my first bike! I was really shocked, happy, and sad all at the same time because my parents didn't have a lot of money back then and I knew they sacrificed a lot just for me. So, I took really good care of it. Love my parents to pieces!! I will become a parent this coming October and hope I can make my children happy too! Thanks to everyone for sharing such sweet memories :) And thanks to Kim & Jason for this sweet giveaway!

My mom took me to Knott's Berry Farm on my birthday when I was 14. We stopped at the great bakery that sell all sorts of yummy cookies and cakes and baked goods. She looked at the birthday cakes already made for pickup and said to me "I really like that one I think we will get it". I replied "you can't get that one it is someones birthday cake!" That's when she smiled and the lady handed it to us with my name on the cake. It was the best cake ever.

Hello! I am guessing that I was around 8 or 9 years old. My mom and older sister were planning a "surprise" party for me. Things were going great in the planning department. One of my closest friends lived right across the street from me. She was younger and wasn't very good at keeping secrets! Well, one day Linda and I were talking and she mentioned something about coming to my party!!!!! Need I say more?! Thanks, Cindi

Well, TODAY is my birthday. I remember the year my mom passed away my sister who was only 2 years older than me "hosted" my birthday party. It was one of the few birthdays I remember from my childhood, with homemade games, party novelties, etc. The little girl who lived behind us made me a birthday card out of a 2 x 4 and drew all over it w/ crayons. It was hilarious. My sister made a cake that was all crooked w/ icing falling off and it was delicious. That birthday summed up the truth that a gift from the heart is better than gold.

It was in sixth grade when my parents finally let me have my first slumber party. I had never been allowed to have more than one person over at a time before that so it was a huge deal to me.
