Every Thursday, we pick out one of the cool things from the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand and give it away. Yep, for free.

This week’s prize is a Rubber Duckie Kit. This nostalgic kit explains how the familiar tub toy became a true icon of childhood, and why it’s become so collectible. Featuring a classic rubber duck plus an 80-page book detailing history, trivia, and trends, illustrated with photos of the author’s extensive collection, it’s an essential for kitsch aficionados.

Packed inside this informative book, you’ll find everything you need to have a swell time with your favorite duckie–his life history, a bubble bath tutorial, cleaning tips for dirty ducks, tub-time trivia, and much more! Best of all, it includes a classic rubber duckie who will make a great addition–or beginning–to any collector’s flock!

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Just leave a comment on this post, answering this week’s question: “What’s your favorite childhood bath time memory?”
  2. Deadline for entries is 11:59 pm CST on the day of the post. We’ll pick a winner from the list of comments on the following Friday.
  3. We’ll contact the winner by e-mail to find out where to send the prize.

Good luck! And don’t miss any of the other cool stuff for the young at heart at The Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand!

**UPDATE: This week’s winner was Lance:

My favorite bath time memory… is watching my kids build bubble beards and all the giggles, when a tub is an event, not a task.  However, my wife’s worst memory is when dad put Tide in the tub thinking it would create better bubbles.

Even though this week’s contest is over, you can still buy your very own Rubber Duckie Kit at the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand. And stay tuned next week for the next chance to win!

One of my favorite memories of bath time was all the bubbles that I used to make myself a cool beard and I loved giving my barbie doll a bath!

I remember when I got soap crayons for Christmas and I got to take those into the tub for the first time and my mom actually let me write on the walls and stuff. I was so excited and had so much fun!

Mine’s actually an anti-bath memory. I don’t remember from when I was really little but in my slightly older years, like many kids, I didn’t really care much about hygiene. I would fake taking a bath–filling up the tub, wetting my washcloth, getting my towel damp….and then sit on the toilet so I could read! I preferred reading to almost every other activity there was…. The funny thing, looking back, is that I could have at least dipped myself in the tub (or taken a shower) in as much time as it took me to make sure there was enough water splashed around and things dampened in case they checked on me.

Oh, wait! Another memory from when I was littler! I used to sweep my legs from side to side to make “waves,” trying to see if I could sweep them over the edge. Since I was only allowed a couple inches of water, I never could get them all that high, but I always tried and had great fun imagining I was in the ocean.

I loved taking the scuba diving man that came in cereal boxes and putting baking soda in his scuba tank and he would go down with little bubbles like he was breathing, and up for more air! The bathtub became the ocean with great adventures, but mom wouldn’t let us use blue food color which really bummed me out, something about it staining the bathtub - what a kill joy!
Years later when the same cereal toy appeared when my sons were little I watched with glee as they played bathtub ocean with scuba guy -then I was the meany kill joy who wouldn’t let them use the food color… just wait till they have kids I”m going to SUGGEST food color!!!!!!!!!

I remember bring my dolls into the tub with me. Their hair would get so ratty, though, and I’d make my mom spray not only my hair, but the dolls’ hair with No More Tangles spray as well.

My favorite memories in the tub was out my Grandma’s house in her tub. My cousin who was bigger than me lived downstairs and I would beg and beg for him to play with me in the tub. So he would get in his swimsuit and get in with me. Then, when I was done playing with my teenage mutant nija turtles, g.i. joe’s, or superheroes, my Grandma would wrap a towel around me, pick me up and carry me to the bed. I was very upset when I got too big for her to lift anymore, that was my favorite part of bathtime.

My sister is ten years older than me! Of course, being the pesty younger sister, I always wanted to take a bath with her! One time she was shaving her legs, I told her I bet the razor wouldn’t cut my finger. She tried to tell me not to make a game of things! I quickly slid my finger in the shaver’s path and came out with half a fingernail!!!!! Now, I take my baths alone and would love to have this rubber duckie as a bath companion. As a young child, I never had a rubber duckie for the bath. Thanks…..Cindi

I loved bringing my Barbie’s in the tub. I always had a blast playing with those toys. Well that was as I got a little older. When I was very little I hated taking baths. Everyone in the neighborhood knew it was my bath time because I would scream.

My favorite bath time memory allows me to remember my grandmother.

She did not speak English very well and I was a tomboy who did not like to wear dresses.

I was about 4 years old and she dressed me up in a dress and I snuck outside and played in the dirt.

I can still see the look on her face and hear her speaking her native language and throwing her hands up in the air.

I remember her picking me up and putting me in a bubble bath dress and all.

My favorite bath memory, is when I had stayed in the bath tub for hours, I didn’t want to get out, and then when I did! I freaked out when I saw that my hands and feet were all wrinkled!! I thought I would never go away!!

Where to start? First, I remember my bath doll. Was it called Rub-a-dub-dub doll? Anyway, you could take it in the tub with you and wash her hair. Of course the hair turned into a twisted mop-like mess after the first few days, but there was just something cool about having a doll you could go ANYWHERE with. :0)

Then there was the bath crayons. Those crazy soap-like hunks that you could draw on the tile and bathtub sides with - that was really fun. It made the bath time (which we all hated because it wasted precious time when we could be outside), more fun.

Lastly I remember those fun wind-up toys that would swim in the tub with you. I had a green turtle and a white duck with a yellow beak. They were so fun, I would wind them up over and over again, until I was shivering in the cold water. :0)

This is so timely - I just saw this awesome article this morning: 20 More Life Lessons Learned From My Toddler (http://beinspiredeveryday.com/2008/07/10/20-more-life-lessons-learned-from-my-toddler/)

it was fun trying to see how many different characters I could be with the bubbles
from putting bubbles on my chest to be the little mermaid to the long bearded pirates :)

Using an entire Mr.Bubbles bath when the water was running and it was pretty much overflowing when I moved the bubbles to make room for me. hahaha!! my mother was not happy.

My favorite memory in the bath is when I was about six years old and my younger cousin was about three. I loved to recite “This little piggy went to Market” on her toes, even though her favorite thing to do was flail and splash about. However one time my mom was video-taping and instead of saying the line about getting roast beef, I said; “This little piggy got beef jerky and this little piggy got none!” I knew that line had something to do with beef! It has been a classic video clip ever since…

My favorite memories involved bringing toys into the bath. We had a big box in the closet filled with boats and other floaty things. I remember one little set that included a round yellow boat and three portly figures: a Butcher, a Baker, and a Candlestick Maker. I’m pretty sure there were times when we had more toys than water in the tub!
