Every Thursday, we pick out one of the cool things from the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand and give it away. Yep, for free.

This week’s prize is the book Does This Cape Make Me Look Fat? Saving the world is hard enough, but what about the tests of inner strength faced by today’s harried superhero? Unafraid to tackle the tough questions, Does This Cape Make Me Look Fat? offers illustrated self-help guidance for the caped crusader on the subjects of costume choice and self-esteem, guilt and x-ray vision, getting along with a sidekick, thriving in the team environment, negotiating a secret identity at work, and more. The action-packed, comic book-style illustrated advice will help heroes conquer fear of flying, get in touch with super feelings, and choose the nemesis that’s right for them. Also including practical advice for avoiding lawsuits, coming up with a good catch-phrase, and maintaining super hair, this hilarious self-help manual–and sly pop psychology satire–brings the help heroes need right to their gloved fingertips.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Just leave a comment on this post, answering this week’s question: “Who is your favorite superhero, and why?”
  2. Deadline for entries is 11:59 pm CST on the day of the post. We’ll pick a winner from the list of comments on the following Friday.
  3. We’ll contact the winner by e-mail to find out where to send the prize.

Good luck! And don’t miss any of the other cool stuff for the young at heart at The Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand!

**UPDATE: This week’s winner was Kat:

My favorite super hero is the man of steel.
In his daily life, he knows how we feel.
As Superman he does a heroic deed.
He’s there for us whatever we need.
I like the fact that he lives like us
But when needed he can jump over a bus.

Even though this week’s contest is over, you can still buy your very own copy of Does This Cape Make Me Look Fat? at the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand. And stay tuned next week for the next chance to win!

Never really was into superheros. However…

“Danger lurks in the big city, Disaster waits in every dark ally. Perl behind every park bench. The world needs a hero! But not just an ordinary hero, no a SPECIAL hero, a SUPER HERO! I am that hero! They call me LARRY-BOY!”

I’ve always appreciated that. I mean what other super hero has plungers for ears?

Was Batman really a superhero? He had no super powers. Say a criminal is on the top of a building, Flash runs up, Superman flies up, Spidey climbs up. Batman? Let me get my grappling hook, what if he forgot to pack it?

Spiderman is mine. I always thought it was cool to swing from building to building.

Superman was my favorite because he was so good at his geeky alter-ego Clark Kent. So clever! Where does he change clothes now with the derth of telephone boxes?

I never a favorite super hero growing up. But when I was a teenager and saw Superman in the theaters, I was hooked. But what am I really hooked on, Superman or Christopher Reeves’ blue eyes?

Buzz Lightyear - because he believed in himself (even if no one else did!)

Why, of course, “WONDERWOMAN!” She is spectacular!
I always wished I could spin around as quickly as she without getting dizzy. This superhero topic reminds me of my oldest son when he was around 2-3 years old. We had this duffel bag full to the brim of various costumes. That was all fine; however, when I wanted to go shopping, I expected him to wear “normal” kid clothes. Not the case at all! He would wear a ninja, batman, superman, etc. to every store I went to. It wasn’t even Halloween! I used to get some pretty strange looks. Oh well, water under the bridge…..Thanks, Cindi

My favorite superhero was Underdog. First of all, he was cute. But second, he was not that much more talented than my dog, Ripper. I put a cape on Ripper a few times and played Underdog with him.

I also remember a T.V. show called, “The Greatest American Hero,” about an average guy who ended up with super powers he couldn’t control well. Much is expected from those to whom much power is given, so be careful what you wish for! That’s the message I got from the show.

Hmmm - well I really like Iron Man, after seeing the movie. Just because he gives me hope for some of the womanizing jerks in the world. LOL

I also am a huge fan of Buffy (TVS) and Jean Gray. Oh how I wish I could clean house with my mind.

I bet this is your favorite Thursday Giveaway Jason! I too am a big fan of superheroes, and its hard to choose… I would have to say the Green Arrow. He is always so calm and collected and fantastic with his bow! He’s my favorite because he is just a regular guy who wasn’t born with super powers, but has a great talent that he puts to good use. And plus, he has the coolest goatee.

I love the Silver Surfer because honestly, look at him. He’s just so cool looking and he can travel faster than light. I also like the fact that he shows some humanity and struggles with some of the things real humans do. Yep, that’s my dude, my surfer dude.

My fave superhero is Superman. Why?? He has inspired some cool songs and dances like Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down. And if Jerry Seinfeld thinks superman is cool, so do I!

Love the title of this book. :0)
Favorite superhero? My goodness who could choose? How about favorite superhero team? There’s the super-cool Avengers, full of strength, super-science, all-American heroes and more, X-Men who can control your mind, the weather, and sniff you out wherever you hide. Maybe you like the Justice League with aliens, Amazonian princesses, and Green Lantern, our friendly guardian of Earth. Too many great heroes to pick just one. . .

And don’t even get me started on super-villains! ha!
