    Daily [or] Weekly (Huh?)

Every Thursday, we pick out one of the cool things from the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand and give it away. Yep, for free.

This week’s prize is a Funny Glasses Tissue Box Cover. Most Kleenex — excuse us, tissue — box covers look like something designed to match Grandma Millie’s plastic-wrapped couch. Not anymore. This fun cover adds some whimsy to the mundane. You can even add your own picture to customize it! The yellow fabric cover slips over rectangular shaped tissue boxes and the tissues come out of the silly red nose.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Just leave a comment on this post, answering this week’s question: “What was the best (or worst) part about being sick when you were a kid?”
  2. Deadline for entries is 11:59 pm CST on the day of the post. We’ll pick a winner from the list of comments sometime on the following Friday.
  3. We’ll contact the winner by e-mail to find out where to send the free prize.

Good luck! And don’t miss any of the other cool stuff for the young at heart at The Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand!

UPDATE: This week’s winner was Minette:

Best part:  Sleeping on the couch and watching game shows all day.  I loved Price is Right, too!  Plus, Dad would bring me back a soda from his office.

Worst part:  Going to see Dr. Well (yes, you read that right).  Doc Well believed that every illness, whether viral or bacterial, could be solved by a SHOT, so every time you went to his office you got a SHOT.  We NEVER faked being sick at my house!

Stay tuned next week for the next chance to win!

The worst part was that my parents would only let me eat toast if I was sick - so that I didn’t “upset my stomach”.

The best bits were getting a day off school, and that first proper meal after coming off toast rations.

Being able to lay on the couch all day and watch game shows. I especially looked forward to The Price is Right!

the best: no school, sleep till noon,
drink lots of tea with strawberry jam (yammm), eating in bed, reading 3 musketeers and watching hockey on TV seemed to help my fever

The worst part was my mom’s belief that any sickness could be cured with a mixture of hot milk, honey and baking soda. This is the nastiest drink one could ever stir together. I just could not say no to her :-)

The best part was definitely the way my mom treated me for the day. Since I am one of six siblings, when it was just me and mom, it was pretty special. We’d watch tv, she’d read me books, and make me soup.

The worst part was having to go back to school the next day.

My youngest is sick today, and I was already at work. Via phone I coached my husband how to “mush up” our son. Cover him with a blanket, ask if he wants a cold towel on his head, give him some toast to settle his tummy and let him read. I have turned into MY Mom! But that’s ok when your honey is sick and you’re stuck in your cube at the office. Lisa
