My least favorite chore to do as a kid was drying dishes! (I didn’t mind washing them but drying them was always so tedious.)
Cute scrubber!!

Mopping…. eh ~lol~
Comment by Lesha on 10/18/2007 @ 12:37 am
Chore I hated as a kid - it is still the same as a parent! I hate cleaning up the toys. It is loud, they never fit back in the toybox the same way and they are just going to be back out again tomorrow…. why do I have to put them away?????? (In my best whiny voice, of course!)
Comment by Jill on 10/18/2007 @ 5:04 am
Vacuuming. It was so LOUD, and I had trouble maneuvering the whole thing, so it would squash my toes!
Comment by Del on 10/18/2007 @ 5:18 am
I hated cleaning the bathroom. We had 3 girls sharing the same bathroom and we played outside a lot. Therefore, there was always a lot of clutter, dirt and crud. My mother had very high standards of cleanliness, too, so it always took extra time. I still hate cleaning bathrooms. I’d pay someone to do it if I could.

Dusting baseboards with a damp cloth–once a week even!! I mean, REALLY, who looks down there at those things?!?
(Now y’all will notice EVERYBODY’S baseboards today LOL!)

least favorite was helping dust and still is today! I love this new little gadget and I was actually just online this morning looking where to buy one after I saw it mentioned on a blog! This would be so cool to win it instead!

My least favorite chore as a kid was cleaning my room- esp. since I shared it with my twin sister and she was the “messy one.”
Comment by Melissa on 10/18/2007 @ 10:22 am
My least favorite chore as a kid was making my bed. It always seemed so pointless.
Comment by Cathy on 10/18/2007 @ 10:31 am
The worst chore that I had growing up was doing the laundry. We lived in an apartment building and so it was tough lugging the clothes up and down the stairs. Especially when it was dark outside!
Comment by Ula on 10/18/2007 @ 10:32 am
Ooo, hands down my least favorite chore was putting my clothes away. I could clean the bathroom, I could vaccum and dust like nobody’s biz, but man, hanging up and folding clothes - blech! Of course now I hate cleaning just about anything;)
Comment by Reva on 10/18/2007 @ 10:32 am
I loved doing the dishes with my mom.
Comment by Hannah on 10/18/2007 @ 10:38 am
My least favorite chore was cleaning the dishes after dinner. My mother could and still can use every dish in the kitchen and make the biggest mess ever.

Dusting!!!

My least favorite chore to do as a kid was folding laundry and I still dread doing it. I can scrub a toilet all day long, but just hearing the sound of the buzzer on the dryer going off makes me cringe!
Comment by Charlana on 10/18/2007 @ 10:43 am
I hated to squeegie (spelling???) the shower. My parents were obsessed with keeping the shower walls dry. I would try to be the first one to shower - not the last - so I wouldn’t get stuck doing it!!!!
Comment by Amy on 10/18/2007 @ 10:45 am
This looks really cool. I actually didn’t have chores as a kid until I started begging for them. I would ’sneak’ and clean the house for my hard working mother. As I got older, I got to bring in the mail, empty the dishwasher, and cook dinner. My mom had a mean mom who left her with her grandparents until she was old enough to come home and work around the house. This was when my mom was 10. She swore, she would never do the same to me. She went a bit far the other way.

My least favorite chore to do as a kid was to dust. I couldn’t (and still can’t )stand the feel of the dust cloth !

I loved to dust because I really liked the smell of pledge. That’s wierd isn’t it?
Comment by Carrie Zeiter on 10/18/2007 @ 11:07 am
Every summer my mom would have my brother and I weed the front flower bed. If done right it would take only an afternoon, but still, we hated it and was the dread of each coming summer.

My least favorite chore was cleaning the bathrooms. HATED IT!!
Comment by Tiffany Smith on 10/18/2007 @ 11:14 am
We didn’t have an indoor bathroom until I was 15 years old. Seriously! We had an outhouse and a chamber pot inside for night. I had the unpleasant chore of empting the chamber pot the next morning. I still gag thinking about. GROSS!! Maybe that’s why I hate cleaning the bathrooms now, that and the fact that there are 5 males in this household… icky creatures that they can be. lol

I hated that I was supposed to make dinner once a week when I got old enough. My mom hated cauliflower so I made cauliflower every week until she stopped making me make dinner. Not quite sure why she let me get away with that!
Comment by Alexandra on 10/18/2007 @ 11:26 am
I always hated washing the dishes, especially on spaghetti day - 3 sisters shared chores & I ALWAYS seemed to get spaghetti day - so unfair…
Comment by Tricia on 10/18/2007 @ 11:28 am
I didn’t have any chores when I was kid. My mom felt kids should be kids. I sure got a wake up though when I got married at 19, had a baby & had to start doing dishes, lol. I didn’t know how to do them right at all & it was such a pain. One time I stuck the knives in the dryer rack thing & my husband bent over & stabbed his forehead. He was so mad!
Comment by Ginny Brewster on 10/18/2007 @ 11:31 am
Definitely cleaning out the litter box or scooping poop out of the back yard. I love cleaning, but I can pass on pet poo.
Comment by Jessica on 10/18/2007 @ 11:34 am
My least fave chore was scrubbing the bathrooms- so much so that I would give my box of Captain Crunch Peanut Butter to my sister and she would clean them for me=)

Taking stuff out to the mulch pile was awful as a kid and is just as awful now. I love the concept of it, but the smell of rotting food is disgusting.
Comment by Kim on 10/18/2007 @ 11:37 am
Oh, Making the Bed, for sure! It just seemed so pointless! No one ever went into my room during the day except me, so why do I have to make it!
I only make beds now if guests are coming.
Cute wand, by the way!

I hated picking up my toys. Both my parents were blind &if I didn’t pick them up they’d get step on. One of two things would happen, someone would get hurt or the toy would get broken - either one was not a happy ending for me!
Comment by Janet on 10/18/2007 @ 11:51 am
My least favorite chore, which I still dislike today as an adult, was cleaning my room. I would make “piles” and only I knew where to find stuff and in which pile. I don’t have as many piles now as I did when I was young, but the whole concept of cleaning sends me to another planet.

I have to say that my least favorite chore as a kid was cleaning out the car. I still hate that! Everyone leaves trash and crumbs and sticky substances. The pebbles rattled around in the vacuum, which was impossible to get out to the car in the first place! Yuck!
Comment by Mollie Bradford on 10/18/2007 @ 12:36 pm
My least favorite chore when I was younger was laundry. We had this really old fashioned washing machine where you had to crank this lever to rinse your clothing. And then we had to hang it on the line to dry. Your jeans would be so rough once they dried. The worst thing was when there was a windy day and our clothes would blow off and we would be stuck with stickers in our underewear.

I HATED doing the dishes…especially when Mom soaked the dishes for a while and by the time I got there the water was cold and gross with no more bubbles. YUCK!!! Now I never soak my dishes and wash them immediately and put them in the dishwasher.

My least favorite chore was doing the dishes. I’d let them sit and get stinky until my mom exploded. Funny thing is, now I don’t mind doing the dishes…In fact, I’m compulsive about getting them in the dishwasher ASAP!

Vacuuming. Or ironing. No, wait, weeding. Oh, so many choices!
Comment by Naomi on 10/18/2007 @ 3:18 pm
The chore I most hated as a child? That would have been doing the dishes. Honestly, it would have not been so bad if my father had not made me redo them ALL if he found even one with a spot on it!! Slave driver!!!

My least favorite chore as a child was lawnwork–somehow, my parents thought it was fair to have me pull the weeds!!!

Sweeping these steep steps that went up a hill behind my house. They were made out of railroad ties and I used to have to get all the pebbles, leaves and dust out from between the cracks. 20 years later I would be diagnosed with OCD–strange. . .

Dishes. I hated doing dishes. Why? They were never ending, always dirty. Particularly in a house with six kids.

If this would get my kids doing dishes, I’d buy several more, lol.
Comment by Qtpies7 on 10/18/2007 @ 9:41 pm
My least favorite chore as a kid was doing the dishes. It was actually drying and putting away the dishes. We had a big, long house and at night my brother and I would have to stay in the back of the house to do the dishes. It was cold back there and I was always a little scared. Anyway, whomever washed the dishes would do it so quickly that the dishes would pile up for the dryer and the washer would then run to the front of the house to be with the family leaving the dryer alone. So I hated to be the “dryer”. To this day I still hate to do the dishes.

I hated cleaning the bathroom. Still do. But I’m hoping they don’t come out with a bubble wand/toilet brush, with us bathroom cleaning haters as their target market.

I grew up on a dairy farm so there were chores from the minute we got up until it was time for bed. My least favorite was baling hay. It was the hottest day of the year (the hay had to dry before it could be baled) and you had to wear flannel long sleeved shirts and jeans to keep from getting slivers from the hay. You stacked it on the wagon, and then went into the top of the barn without any air circulation and had to re-stack it in the barn. It was always a dirty dusty job.
