Hi Kim & Jason,
I agree completely.
In fact, during an interview for our show, kidlit author and poet Sheree Fitch suggested that we not only replace the nightly news with the reading of great children’s books but that if the UN sat around the table and read a good quality children’s book the world would be a much better place to live:

Ah, the UN reading children’s books…now that’s a great fantasy! But something I’d give anything to see.

I agree totally. Many years ago I stopped watching TV in the evenings unless its to share an everliving classic DVD such as “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” or “Sound of Music” or ” Willy Wonka’s chocholate factory”. Its amazing how I view these films now. I adore them and love to share the magic with my daughter. Give me dreams, imagination, colour and fun anyday before I go to bed! YIPEE!! I love your articles they make my day and are so on my wave length! Am spreading the word about your website across the UK
Have a fantastic day filled with lots of fun and laughter!

Mary, Thanks for the kind words! I think it’s so cool that you are able to share your love for those films with your daughter. What a wonderful gift to be able to pass along!

I agree as well. Nightly news is filled with so much negativity about the world. Now if it highlighted the good that people are doing & is being done around the country/world, now that is something I could watch. I didn’t even realize, but I don’t think I’ve watched the news really since I was growing up in my parents household & by that time, it was just an indication of bedtime anyway. I don’t even miss the news. There are so many better things to do like read children’s books to calm our minds before we sleep! Great suggestion!
